Nepal has 15 restricted areas protected for their biodiversity, culture, and strategic borders. Trekking here requires a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and a licensed guide. Solo trekking is not allowed.
Permit fees help conserve the environment, support local communities, and maintain trails. These regions are remote and sensitive, and permits are mandatory for responsible trekking.
